Selling it to my parents at a substantial discount once I’ve finished fixing it up. Glad it’s sticking around I’ve enjoyed having it.

Happy days. Hopefully this marks an end to your parents automotive woes compared to the Micra rust buckets.

Sounds like you have a donor car for the sub 1000cc rally championship right there. And the mondeo as a tow car. Job. Jobbed.

Did you get the DPF sorted, then? Oh yes, I see I missed a post. If it’s that easy to fix DPF problems, I’m going to have to start looking for a car with a clogged filter.

Cosmetically their cars aren’t too bad.

Actually the CEL came back on. Pressure washing it next. Took a good few miles to come back though so I assume it’s at least better.

Oh, that’s a shame. Also, I forgot to mention before, but the stuff inside is probably carcinogenic, so you want some gloves and a decent dust-mask with a valve.

I thought about that but since I was water rinsing the dust couldn’t get airbourne. I shouldve wore gloves though.

You’re probably OK, but why take the risk? A not-the-cheapest dust mask will set you back all of a few quid, and you’ll have it for future use as well.

I got a couple of these on offer in Screwfix the other day for £2 each (I think). Having tried them, and now the price has gone back up, I wish I’d grabbed a few more:
